Dear friends of St. Thomas’s,

The 174rd Annual Meeting of St. Thomas’s Parish is coming soon! All reports are due this Sunday, February 7. Please send your report to with Annual Report in the subject line.

The Episcopal Church designates the first Sunday of February, as Theological Education Sunday. This Sunday, February 7 is intended to invite our prayers and support for those who follow God’s call into the ordained life. We are blessed to have Julia Stroud from St. Lydia’s Community Church, Brooklyn NY, with us this coming Sunday. Julia is a personal friend of Fr. Paul & Marilyn from their time at St. David’s in Wayne, PA. St. Lydia’s is a progressive storefront parish that connects the holy with the daily of life, sharing at tables with friends. The loose plate offering on this day will be designated to support the work of St. Lydia’s Community Church. Please be generous with an extra offering February 7. If you wish to write a check, please make out to St. Thomas’s Parish and include in the memo line Theological Education Sunday; St. Lydia’s Church.

See the Carpenter’s Helper for this coming Sun., Feb. 7.

As of this Sunday the Carpenter’s Helper will no longer be included in with the Sunday bulletin. There are hard copies available on the name tag table.

Make note that the St. Thomas’s Men’s Breakfast will be Saturday, February 13 at 9:00 a.m..

Blessings to you this day,

Cami Seward

Liturgy Guild needs new members

posted in: Outreach | 0
Dear members of the St Thomas family,

I am writing to you all as head of the liturgy guild, which provides all the altar servers (including Communion assistants), readers of the Lessons, and Eucharistic visitors who bring Communion to those who cannot come to church. As I write the annual report I am very mindful of the fact that lately we have been experiencing an unusual level of attrition of our ranks through accidents, illness, and departures. We need volunteers to step forward, and we need them now. Please think seriously and prayerfully about volunteering yourself or at least someone else for this crucial work which is in fact neither hard nor requires much training. I will be most happy to talk to anyone to allay her or his anxieties about serving. The Lord wants YOU!

The Wardens and Vestry of St. Thomas’s Parish have set aside The Fourth Sunday in Lent, March 6, 2016 for the 174th Annual Meeting of St. Thomas’s Parish. This important gathering gives opportunity to gather as a community of faith, to hear reports of our ministry activities over the year past and plans for the year ahead, and to elect four [4] people to three year terms as servant leaders of our parish. We will gather at 12:00 p.m. in the Great Hall, beginning with time of fellowship and a light lunch with refreshments. The meeting will begin at 12:30 p.m. We are offering activities for our children so that parents may participate fully in the life and ministry of our parish.
